Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year From Abbey Road Dental

Seasons Greetings To All In And Around St John’s Wood!

Abbey Road Dental sign2022 has been an incredible year where Abbey Road Dental has not only changed owners but also fully resumed service following the challenging Covid-19 pandemic that impacted the world over the last few years.

We’ve been excitedly getting back to normal, providing new and current patients with excellent dental care, day after day.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for choosing our NW8 clinic for your family dental care. We continue to maintain and improve our services, with better treatments, equipment, staff-training and more, so that you’re only ever getting top quality oral care, without compromise.

As we move into an exciting 2023 and wave goodbye to an amazing 2022, here’s an overview of some of the most popular treatments and services offered at our NW8 clinic;

Detailed Checkups

We are very proud of our detailed checkup process because preventative dentistry is at the heart of everything we do. With strong teeth and gums you can feel confident and healthy, giving you great foundations for cosmetic dentistry treatments if you feel like enhancing your smile aesthetically.

Our local St John’s Wood team is also incredibly proud of the efforts we go to with little patients who may be hesitant about their early years appointments. It’s so important for children to feel good about not only their dental health, but about their visits to us. We have a range of skills and special tricks that ensure children can have a great first visit, and feel wonderful about their trips to us for their checkups. In fact, we’re quite proud that many children actively look forward to coming in to see us for their checkups, leaving them proud of their smiles and their efforts to keep their teeth and gums nice and clean.

Gum Disease Prevention

Both our dentists and hygienists collaborate to ensure patients avoid gum disease – the leading cause of tooth loss in the UK. Regular checkups can help spot signs of gum disease and signs that certain habits might be a contributory factor to gum disease. In the event that gum disease is found, in its early stages it can be reversed with the right support from the hygienist. At more developed stages, the hygienist and dentist will work together to create the right plan to treat it, restore your health and potentially in the future, restore your smile if the gum disease has caused extensive damage.

Our hygienist services can also be utilised as general smile maintenance, giving your teeth a professional clean on a regular basis for fresh breath, a beautiful smile and healthy gums. This can be booked without having to see your NW8 dentist first as a separate service.

Dental Implants

Abbey Road Dental is very proud to offer professional teeth implant treatment for patients. We offer single missing tooth implants, implant supported bridges, implant supported dentures and the highly popular All On 4 option, which is able to provide you with a brand new set of replacement, implant supported teeth, sometimes in just one day.

Dental implants are at the forefront of tooth replacement treatment, providing an innovative solution for a common problem. Missing teeth cause issues with the function and aesthetic of the mouth, and for a long time crowns and bridges, and/ or dentures were the main replacement options. Whilst those options can work well, they aren’t as secure or long-lasting as implants, which are fitted to replace the missing tooth root. They are very strong and secure because they bond with the jawbone and once they are healed and an abutment is added, implant supported dentures, bridges or crowns can be added to complete the look. They work for individual, multiple or entire arches of missing teeth and in many cases, especially where the individual has struggled with missing teeth, they are transformative.

Veneers

For patients who want a transformed smile aesthetic to match the ‘A listers’, veneers are the treatment of choice. At Abbey Road Dental we offer high-quality porcelain veneers. They are extremely thin slices of porcelain bonded to a prepared tooth to correct their shape, size and shade. They can be used for a range of different issues and smile goals, including;

  • A complete smile makeover
  • To create a straight smile instead of braces
  • To change the look of worn short teeth
  • To create a ‘bigger smile’ when the natural teeth are small
  • To correct the look of a stable chipped tooth
  • To cover gum triangles from gum recession
  • For a brighter, whiter smile not always achievable with whitening

Every veneer treatment is bespoke to the individual, but the results are impressive and are achieved in relatively few appointments.

Whitening

Teeth whitening is an incredibly popular dental treatment that we offer either in-house, at home, or in a plan that includes both options. The reason whitening is so popular is because it can lift the teeth several shades whiter (depending on the starting tone). In just an hour (or a few weeks at home) your smile will look younger, brighter and more beautiful, all with a non-invasive treatment that’s highly affordable.
